this can't be real...

When I see this photo all I can imagine is running around the scene wearing a black feathered gown. The end.

beautiful...

Human Towers.

These are incredible. It's a Spanish tradition during Spanish festivals to build these dangerous human towers. This tradition dates back to the end of the 18th century. I could only imagine how intense it would be to watch these festivities.

Meet the sloths

I once asked one of my best friends, Kelsey, what animal i remind her of in hopes of honesty and she told me a sloth. lol and then I called her a Dinosaur.

Just watched The Doors documentary. I liked it but I was not in love with it. Now that it's been a few weeks from watching it I look back and think it's good but I remember when I was done with it I didn't feel that way. I just love this photo...

Just watched Kurt & Courtney a documentary about Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana, and his girlfriend and later famous artist Courtney Love. In the film there is all the talk about the conspiracy theories about Courtney Love being liable for killing Kurt Cobain who was said to have committed suicide. I don't know what to believe but how could anyone live with knowing that you killed someone and then lied about it for the rest of your life! sad souls.

Not to keep this depressing post going but have you heard of that documentary about the San Francisco bridge?!?!! It's about people who jump off the San Francisco bridge to commit suicide and apparently it happens almost every 3 weeks! So this camera crew sets up cameras to monitor the bridge all year long and they actually show these people doing it. When I heard about this and researched on it I couldn't help but think this feels wrong. The site is messed up!

Alright now I need to post something super happy because this is lame.

can't stop addicted to the shindig.

Since I read Anthony Kiedis's Biography called "Scar Tissue" my love for Red Hot Chili Peppers came back to me. My absolute favorite music video by them is to their song "Can't Stop". I could watch that thing 10 times a day everyday and not get tired of it. And actually, I probably do. Anthony Kiedis is a long time celebrity crush next to Julian Casablancas, Andy Samberg, and lil Wayne. Yes, lil Wayne.

Speaking of music videos, I've recently became obsessed with some of Mike Posner's stuff. Check out his song "Close the door" and a more popular hit "cooler than me". The "Cooler than me" video is pretty good. I wish so badly I had TV only to access music video channels. They are the best and there are so many! Some amazing and others horrid. For an amazing one check out the artist Bat For Lashes and the song is called "Whats a girl to do". So GOOD! And one more before I go, if you haven't seen Ciara's video "Ride it" you have to watch it. That girl can dance!

lost land.

I wonder what the tallest tree in the world measures up to. Also I wonder how terrifying that would be to climb it.

humid treat.

More than anything, in this moment, I want some ice cream! Probably a chocolate chip cookie dough on a sugar or waffle cone would do it!

When I was 16 I was hired for my first job that didn't include watching the entire neighborhoods children all summer or washing dishes. It was at an ice cream parlor called "The Yum Yum Shoppe". We would make some of our ice cream homemade and it was SO delicious! We were able to request certain combo's to try that week and my favorite was always the chocolate chip cookie dough made with cake batter ice cream instead of vanilla. Take a scoop of that and add some hot fudge, reeses cup chunks, whip cream, nuts, and a cherry and you've got something amazing. Or if you put a bit of hot fudge at the bottom of a sugar cone and then add ice cream and another layer of hot fudge, then ice cream again!!!!! SO GOOD!

Anyone ever have a creepy ice cream man? It seems like the older you get the creepier the ice cream trucks appear to be.

Hair is so important!! I love when the hair-do in fashion photography is mythical and dramatic. If i were to ever produce a show for my own designs I would probably struggle on the decision to choose a specific hair style that suits the line.

rugged

What if we all looked like this at the beach? :)

soft

I love this. It kind of reminds me of nightmare before Christmas?
The girl on the right is so thin, its skeleton like which actually adds character to this shot. It's a perfect example of how it will be difficult to "ban too skinny models", like Australia is trying to do right now. This is always an ongoing problem but there has been more media about it recently in the news. In this picture in particular, the thinness of the models makes the message in the photo more delicate, soft, and fragile.

oil spill?

How perfectly relevant is this for our environmental situation right now. I can't even go into talking about the oil spill for the fact that it makes me too angry. I just hope the majority of the animals make it okay! And just think of the habitats that are so rare and special in the gulf that are now being destroyed!! ahhh!

Tis the season...

Let the games begin! haha

why i love people sometimes...

Tyra Banks acting crazy on her show. these pictures made me laugh so I just had to share them. She looks nuts, gotta love her. It takes a real confident person to pull some of the stuff she does off.

tile.

One day we will move out of our place and in some way I will miss this dirty but pretty tile floor

accidents bring great things.

I meant to take a photo of something else and this is what showed up!

There is something about going to a baseball game that I love. Maybe it's the Italian ice, the fries, the beer and funnel cake. (don't even get me started on the funnel cake, I LOVE IT!!) It could also be the history and age behind the beginning of this sport. It's also probably the large crowds of people joining together to take pride in their city's teams by cheering, doing the wave, and fighting over nothing really.

There was this one guy, at the game I went to this past Sunday, who would not quit trying to rally the crowd in the nosebleeds to do the wave. And of course there's always that one guy who takes everything way too serious and wants to fight the guy starting the wave. So they proceeded to have an entertaining argument for about five minutes and then somehow in the end they were swapping jersey's and doing the wave together! Everyone else was getting into it and it was actually quite fun!

So I took these pictures after the Cubs VS Sox game on Sunday but probably only 30 seconds to a minute apart from each other and look at how different the clouds are! They were moving so fast that day! Even during the game their shadows would whizz by on the field.

the other world.

Photography underwater is so satisfying.

...Now if I could just learn how to hold my breathe for more than 10 seconds.

This looks fun...

Remember how exciting the ball pits were when you were 8? It was like I had never thought something that fun and amazing could ever exist. That is until I discovered a trampoline.

did i mention i love yellow?

storm blanket.

13 years of my life I grew up in a small town of 6,000 people. There are corn fields everywhere and nothing but flat Midwestern land. As boring as this place can get after spending all those years there doing the same things, it is actually beautiful to go back and visit. This is a picture I took when I went back to my parent's place this past weekend and there was a really gnarly storm. The tornado sirens were sounding and everything. This picture shows the storm clouds beginning to cover the sky. It's gorgeous.
I remember once I went to my good friends farm house and sat on top of her silo to watch a storm roll in over her families fields and it's a completely different perspective of a storm up there with so much space for the wind to play.

learning something new everyday.

My family and I went up north to stay in this cute little town in Wisconsin that has really interesting boutiques. My cousin found this sign in one of them and I thought it was hilarious! I had never heard that before!

when the business is slow...

I found this bag in the back at work all by itself and I can't believe we haven't had it on display its so pretty!! I want it!!

available @ Tous Chicago in the Water Tower Place on Michigan Ave.

Cheesy.

I've had a facination with trees ever since we were taught about the growth and science of them in the 5th or 6th grade was it? My roomate has an incredible photograph of one with tons of roots and it looks like it is straight off of the Lion King. Which speaking of Lion King, if you haven't seen the play you need to go, it's amazing. These trees above are beautiful, giant, and silly.

enjoy.
oh and if you want to see other awesome nature photo's, http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ has the best!

Street Art.

Some pretty cool graffiti illusions. It'd be so sick to watch someone create one of these, especially the one on the street that looks like water!
One of the coolest fashion shows I've ever been to had an after party at a lounge that hired two graffiti artists to paint on this huge wall next to the dance floor throughout the entire night. Nothing like great music, talented individuals, and performance art for a celebration.

let's go to Eygpt!

I want this as a Tapestry. Created in the early 20th century in Eygpt. Made of Cotton and linens originally meant for murals on tents during celebrations.

I am here at work and this painting seems to be the best expression of how i feel.
